Is there a rule for when there is a space after the colon?

This made me wonder:

nav a, nav a:visited { color: #fff; }

After >>>nav a:<<< there is no space, but after >>>color:<<< there is.

Hey ! it's normal, cause " a:visited " is a pseudo class , it has to be written like that. for " color: #fff " its a property with its value, doesnt matter if you put a space or two or even not.
