Is there a setting somewhere to force workspaces to open in new tabs and not new windows?

I really do not like the default behavior of workspaces to open up into a new browser window. I would much rather have workspaces open up into a new tab in the same browser window. My workaround for this behavior is to right/control click the workspace name and force it to open up in a new tab, but is there any way to set all workspaces to open up into a new tab in the same browser window by default? and if not, then... why not?

Thank you,

Richard Nash Los Angeles, CA

Hey Richard,

I don't have this problem. Maybe you want to check your browser preferences to make pages open in a new tab automatically. What browser are you using?

I just did a quick check , turns out this issue only happens when launching from a browser whose screen is not enlarged all the way.

Try making your browser fullscreen, and see if this works for you.

I myself thought it was an issue, and have been right clicking ever since.

my browser is chrome, safari and firefox, and browser window is always full screen, but i still have the same issue all the time. i'm running on a mac, but i've set my preference in all three browsers to open a new tab from a link and i've noticed that only time that it does not do that is usually there is some code coming from the site forcing a new window, so i assumed that was probably the case here.

Hey Richard,

" and browser window is always full screen, "

Apologies I thought I had a solution

"'I've set my preference... to open a new tab"

Same here (google chrome) its always good to have some things set automatically, but it doesn't always work within the browser. Not just Treehouse
