Is there a tutorial which takes you through creating a complete webpage / site from start to finish?

Hi all,

Is there a course / track which will take me through creating a complete site from start to finish? I know some HTML and CSS but if I sit down to actually start trying to make something, I don't know where to start and it looks terrible. It would be nice to have a walkthrough of a nice looking site which could then be used as a skeleton to build upon. Am I just not looking in the right places?

if you're interested, there are sites that give you 'design briefs' to work with. They don't take you step by step through the process of creating them, but with the tools you learn from Treehouse, they are great steps to try and create designs/pages of your own, while not designing in a vacuum.

otherwise, both 'CSS Basics' and 'Build your First Website' course are complete guided courses that take you from beginning to finish.

Like anguswhiston said the how to make a website course is great for that, it will walk you through every aspect from building the site, getting a hosting account and domain name to putting it on the web. You may also want to checkout the quick course website basics as well.
