Is there no ''rebase' option only the 'merge' choice within Xcode? Would this be the reason to sometimes work from cmd?

Just wondering if there is a way to rebase vs merge within Xcode.

There is no rebase option in Xcode. You are right to believe this is one of the reasons to work from the command line.

Just a note, when working with a group, rebasing is highly frowned upon. So avoid using that command as much as possible when collaborating.
