Issue with non-fullscreen Treehouse website

I am new to Treehouse and I'm trying to learn and improve my Python skills. I like to watch the videos on the right side of my screen and have an editor open on the left side. The video player messes up whenever it's not in full screen mode though. The play/pause button is gone and all controls are gone. The teacher notes on the bottom gets moved up and to the left of the screen. I have to make the website full screen to be able to pause the video. I'm used to hitting the space bar to pause the video or just clicking the pause button, but I'm unable to do either. I am using Ubuntu MATE & I have the issues with Google Chrome and the Opera browser. Any feedback will help! Thank you so much.
