Issue with the build responsive website project

I dont know, maybe I'm being picky (or dim) but the project I was looking forward to has been a let down!

I downloaded the 1st project file for the responsive website project and started working on that, converting px to ems etc but once I got to the third video in the adaptive design section and implementing media queries, the code had changed! Suddenly classes were id's, mostly on the navigation section, so I could not carry on using the files I had started with. I thought the point was to be able to do the tasks and add the code yourself. In stead I gave up and just looked at the code given with the implementing media queries videos!

Was very frustrating for me as, even though I know abit about responsive design and media queries I was looking forward to learning more but instead I just had to read the code.

Please people of the Treehouse...please look at this and change/sort it. I have found all videos and projects great up until now but today I sit her feeling abit bummed!

sorry.....I had to get that off my chest....has anyone else noticed similar issues??

I actually agree with you. I was following along and modifying a copy of my original code from the first project, and found the same issues you mentioned. Slightly disappointing. Overall, a great section and very useful, but it would have been nice to have been notified that the original "Smells Like Bakin" source code would no longer be applicable for the Responsive lessons.

I agree too. I had to do exactly the same by dropping all of my own code.... It was really frustrating to go from one video and having kept up and worked alongside to the next video and DOOM... like where the hell did all this extra code come from and why has it not been explained? Why was it coded this way? what was the fundamental thoughts to the added code? why add a bunch of code without teaching it???

I too just came across this issue. different button styles and class attributes and whatnot.. then there is a point in the Adaptive Design:Implementing Media Queries video.. where she copy and pastes some code to make the navigation layout change slightly. but by taking down the code it wont work because it is layed out differently than the original smells like bacon project that we worked on line by line... i agree we should have been informed that the original Smells like Bacon project files dont apply to the Responisve Design Section. Somewhat frustrating.

Yeah, having the same issue. Pretty weak.
