It does not work

I do not know what i am during wrong. I ended up copying the code from android studio but it does not work.

Even if i run the code before i have added anything to the original code i get a iLegalArgumentError.

MainActivity.java
public class MainActivity extends Activity {
    TwitterClient twitterClient = new TwitterClient();

    @Override
    public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
      setContentView(R.layout.activity_main);

      Runnable runnable = new Runnable() {
        @Override
        public void run() {
          twitterClient.update();
        }
      };

      Thread thread = new Thread(runnable);
      thread.setName("TwitterThread");
      thread.start();

    }
}
