Python Python Basics (2015) Letter Game App Random Item

item.py

I just cannot do that

item.py
import random
def random_item(item):
    return radom.randint(0, (len(item)-1))
# EXAMPLE
# random_item("Treehouse")
# The randomly selected number is 4.
# The return value would be "h"

You have almost returned the position, not the character. You still need to get and return the character at that position using a slice.

You have a small typo: random, not radom.

The below could be done in one line, but have made it two for clarity sake.

    position = random.randint(0, len(item)-1)
    return item[position]
