Java for web development OR Javascript as a full stack??

I'm a General Physician who have just started to learn how to code, I've research some apps for hospitals and i've found that they are mostly writen in Java. BUT i've read in other blogs that you could make Java apps faster by using a Javascript stack. What would you recommend, i've already started the full javascript course, but i have no problem learning java if thats what it takes to land a job as a developer.
