Java

Java Objects - Strings and Char objective I can't seem to get the hasTile method to work

What is the problem with my code?

boolean isEmpty = mHand.indexOf(tile) < 0; if (!isEmpty){ return true; }else return false:

1 Answer

You only need a single line. The indexOf() method checks the input and returns the index in the array if it is found. If not it returns -1. Therefore,

return mHand.indexOf(tile) > -1;

will get it done.

Thanks Preston. Yes, that did it. I was making it more complicated than what it needed to be.
