I'm going through the basics of Java and would like to know what is the best way to practice java are there any good online tools available.

You put this question in the JavaScript category. Java and JavaScript are completely unrelated. I remember it this way ... Java is JavaScript as car is carpet.

Anyway, which is it. Java (as in Android) or JavaScript?

Thanks James, I don't know actually what is the difference in both and what are their applications. So if I want to make android apps I should learn Java and If I want to develop web and other pc based apps and programs then I should learn java script is that correct? Please guide us lost soles.

JavaScript provides interactivity to web pages and is used with JQuery. Java is the programming that is used to make Android Apps.
