Hello Abdullah,

There's no straight answer as to which is technically a better server-side language because it's a subjective question, in my opinion. I prefer Ruby simply because I've spent more time on Rails projects which makes me more productive in that environment. However, learning a language like Java will extend your capabilities to millions of devices, the most notable these days being Android devices.

I would certainly spend time learning Java for that reason alone. Of course, here on Treehouse you have courses that will take you pretty deep into both so try them out and look at the available jobs in your area to make a final decision.

I hope this helps.
