JavaScript JavaScript Basics (Retired) Working With Numbers Doing Math

Javascript basics math task 2/3.

I can't get this task to pass. I've run the instructions several different ways and nothing works. This is how I am interpreting the question.

var profit = 469.53( which is the var SalesTotal value) - 5.45(wholesale) * 47 ( quantity) ;

please help.

Hmm, wouldn't profit also include this:

profit = (retail * qty) - (wholesale * qty)

I think that's the equation for profit in this case. Give that a try.

var wholesalePrice = 5.45;
var retailPrice = 9.99;
var quantity = 47;

var salesTotal = retailPrice * quantity;
var profit = salesTotal - wholesalePrice * quantity;
