javascript object

i am getting an error that nothing is returned in the code

object.js 
const player1 = {
    name: 'Ashley',
    color: 'purple',
    isTurn: true,
    play: function(){
        // write code here.
      if(this.isTurn) {
        var z =  player1.name + 'is now playing!';
       }
    }
}
player1.play();

Hi kingdavid igbayilola,

Hey ... you were really close but you're not returning a value from within the 'if' when true (just assigning it to a var. And it also for some reason is insisting you use bracket notation :smile:

Try something like: 

const player1 = {
    name: 'Ashley',
    color: 'purple',
    isTurn: true,
    play: function(){
        // write code here.
      if (this.isTurn) {
        /* return the requested string and use bracket notation */
        return this['name'] + ' is now playing!';
      };
    }
}
