3,373 Pointsjust a general question for programmers out there who are currently employed.
I go to school to be a software developer on top of learning languages here at treehouse. I don't have any experience as a programmer, but I do understand the basic of it thanks to treehouse. Can I get a job on this field with no certificate, just an understanding of how things works in a program? any response would be much appreciated. Thanks guys

I'm afraid not, you'd need a portfolio to land a job; even if you have the certificate, resume is a tough sell without portfolio. When applying for entry-level position, employer almost always needs to see the code you wrote on a actual project in order to assess your skill. So, build something on your own, make it as complete and polish as you can, that way you got something real to show to the interviewer, and you'd have a shot at getting the job.
