im running kali linux on virtaul box and when ever i command “ifconfig wlan0 down” it says that no such device found, my internet is working fine on my firefox... do i need to put and connect a usb adapter to make it work meaning for kali to connect tot the internet? or its something else?

just use ifconfig first without any arguments to see the name that virtualbox has given to it's wifi adapter. It might not see a wifi connection.

ifconfig
