Philip G
14,601 PointsIf you are you on windows, try to open CMD and type:
ipconfig/flushdns
ipconfig/release
ipconfig/renew
If you are on OSX let me know

Kirsty Pollock
14,261 Pointsyes - flushdns worked - other commands failed.

Philip G

14,601 PointsDid the Treehouse Console worked on this Computer before? If not the Firewall might block the Port 3388 or it's a problem with the MTU

Kirsty Pollock
14,261 PointsHave actively enable 3388 on Windows firewall, both incoming and outgoing. No change.

Kirsty Pollock
14,261 Pointsresults from trying MTU thing - not sure how to interpret - except that reducing it doesn't help... https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=BF5EDA57450878B4!1416&authkey=!APp2C_YxH5EGp-E&v=3&ithint=photo%2cpng

Philip G
14,601 PointsDid you use "your" MTU? You can find it by typing:
netsh interface ipv4 show subinterfaces

Kirsty Pollock
14,261 Pointsyes, that was the first one. 1500. Higher values give the same result as 1500.

Philip G
14,601 PointsCurios. Please follow my link and try it again. If it doesn't work, I don't know how to continue.
Regards,
Philip

Kirsty Pollock
14,261 Points"ping www.google.com -f -l 1500" gives needs fragmented. 1472 works. 1472 to teamtreehouse does not [times out]. 1472 to dslreports.com does not [times out].

Philip G
14,601 PointsVery, very curious. I search for other solutions.

Kirsty Pollock
14,261 Pointsthanks so much for your suggestions.Network/systems stuff not my strong point.

Philip G
14,601 PointsDo you have other computers in your network where you can try to access the site? Then we know if its a network or a computer problem.

Kirsty Pollock
14,261 PointsMaybe I can use a colleague's machine for a minute...on my colleague's machine, I click the button and nothing happens at all - the new window doesn't even open...

Philip G
14,601 PointsAnd when you type in the URL directly? If you are at your company, do you have a network admin? ... Another idea ... Have you checked your routers firewall?

Kirsty Pollock
14,261 Pointsah, can't now - she is back using it. sorry, didn't' think of that.

Philip G
14,601 PointsBut... As you are a director at your company do you have you access to your Routers backend interface/ Do you have an employee for network administration ? Is the Port maybe blocked there?

Kirsty Pollock
14,261 PointsThis is at a client site. I will ask the network guys tomorrow.

Philip G
14,601 PointsOk, please write here tomorrow if they solved it(and how)?

Philip G
14,601 PointsSolved?

Kirsty Pollock
14,261 PointsNo. Network guys reckon probably the port is blocked at the ISP - but I haven't had confirmation.

Philip G
14,601 PointsAs I said, for now you can only work in your office with the console by connecting you phone to the PC(over a hotspot).
