Launching Workspace - Not Authorized?

When attempting to launch my workspace I receive a pop-up error message stating that I'm not authorized. Any thoughts on why this is and solutions on how to fix?

Thanks!

I have the same issue, did you find a solution? I am using TOR because otherwise I cannot access the website :(

I'm having the same issue.

Are you attempting to use at work, from behind a corporate firewall?

Is there any known way of getting around the corporate firewall?

I am at a coffee shop and having the same issue. It worked fine until today. Any other reason other than a firewall?

Just ran into this on a work computer, tried restarting the computer and seems to be working fine now. Might be a cache issue.

Thanks Emmanuel, I already did.

I might resort to downloading the files and using Brackets instead.

I got the same problem, not authorized. But somehow it let me through a little bit, into the workspace and then it still said, that I am not authorized. So I tried to click on an eye icon, to launch the preview and it took me to completely different website! I was trying some HTML and it took me to some guy's PHP preview. So it seems, that somehow sometimes the number of workspace is for some reason changed to someone else's and for it is not yours, it says Not authorized. From now on, I'm going to write down the number of every new workspace in case it got changed again. I hope it will work. Update: And now, after a few minutes it's working again. So it seems, that Workspaces tried to launch the same workspaces, the same ID and one of the people got kicked out. And if the one person stopped using the workspace, the other one (me) was able to use it again.

Good morning everyone,

I seem to be also experiencing now the you are not authorized to open the workshop error. Now I have already sent an e-mail to teamtreehouse help desk in order to help fix it but is there like a work around in the mean time?

Happening to me right now. Any one who works for this site and knows the technical issue behind this problem have any suggestions? Or an explanation into what causes these issues?

Also have the same issue, was working fine 18 hours ago (from home). However, I'm at work now and I'm receiving the same error message.

I had the same issue, but when I went to Workspaces in the top right and opened the workspaces I was trying to get to from there, it opened without any issues.

I had this issue on a work network a while back. I concluded it was related to the firewall. But interestingly I was able to get it to work on other browsers. I'd recommend trying other networks if possible, if not try a few other browsers (believe it or not, it worked on IE but not Chrome on my work network).

It's working now.

It's a shocker to hear that it worked on IE!!!

This is a reply from the support team:

"Thank you for reaching out to us! We do apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. Our developers have advised us there may be brief outages over the next week or so while they are working on some things on the backend. A few refreshes should right the issue and it shouldn't last more than a couple minutes at a time. Your patience is greatly appreciated!

Let us know if you are still seeing this issue!"

I read in another thread to try forking it, and that has always worked for me so far if you're desperate to access it then and now.

Just got this issue also. Tried restarting computer. Signed out and tried another computer. Nothing seems to work. I was just using workspaces recently too.

Same issue here. I was using Workspaces like a minute ago. Signed out as well, didn´t help.

I had this problem and was able to fix it by logging out of my Treehouse account and clearing the cache on my browser. It appears that the browser notices you keep returning to that same url, whatever your workspaces url is, and instead of showing you a new one each time it simply refers to its own cached version.
