Layout problem , my header has disappeard? (collapsed) howd i get it to fit in with the image and nav

been practising layouts , the header has disappeard when im floating the img to the left and nav to the right also how do i make the middle column height fill the page to the footer

Whenever I make headers I always give them fixed height, that would solve the problem here.
