General Discussion

Let's discuss this simple idea.

So I recently had an idea pop into my head for a online business. I was wondering if a business marketed as an online marketplace for images and designs to be used in apps or websites would be possible. So for example you click under the 2D category and then the automotive category and up comes a ton of images of different 2D automotives each with a set price by it's designer (who would need an account on the website of course) and then the company of said website, claims whatever percentage lets say 25% of the sale. I feel as though idea stealing would be prominent issue but I don't know if there is a way around that? Obviously whenever content is purchased the purchaser would have rights to use said image in whatever their intent is. And maybe the designer of the image or web layout or whatever it is they make can set a specific quantity it is they want to sell of each specific item. If anyone can give insight as to why this would be absolutely horrible or a possible future venture please feel free to comment.

So, you are saying, a designer can sell a 2D icon/image for a set price, and 25% of the sale would go towards the company?

Correct, kind of like how you can hire freelance work from websites except the site acts as a portfolio for the registered designer. Sort of like an open marketplace for all to view your work and purchase at will. I guess like an online virtual craft show you could say lol.
