Hey all,
I am looking for a group of like minded who would be interested in creating an online study group in CSS, HTML, and Ruby (or RoR).
My idea is to meet on Skype, a Google Hangout, or whichever platform. I would like to create exercises such as build a webpage together from scratch, play with a few ruby gems, possibly research a ruby gem and explain it's functions. We can also mimic pages (for learning purposes) or critique each others projects and code (how can we improve it or write it in a different way?).
I have been attending local meetups in my area and have felt these sessions really help. I like the idea of being able to push each other, share something new we tried during the week, and possibly creating something as a small group
I am looking for anyone who feels they are a beginner in CSS, HTML, or RoR. I've personally created a basic web app, web page, and that's about it. Ideally the group would meet at least 1x but possibly multiple times a week. Hopefully we can find 3-4 like minded and skilled groupies!
If anyone has interest please respond. I can meet anytime after 6 EST most nights of the week.

I'm currently working through the CSS lessons and then moving towards JS and eventually towards PHP or RUBY (Still havent decided). I'm located in NYC. I'm down for the small group collaboration.

9,611 PointsArmando, sounds great, hopefully we get a few more responses and can piece this together a little more....side note, I'm also located in the NYC area, I just started attending a few local Meetups, have you found any good ones? I'm going to a free HTML and CSS workshop next Saturday if you have any interest, they just opened up a few more spots. I was just telling one of my old classmate that is also pursuing web development that it would be cool to get together and have a mini 'Hack-a-thon' to improve our skills and build our portfolio.

About the local meetup thing, I am in Philadelphia so we'd probably have to skype or do a google hangout or something. I do have skype so I can give my details if you would like.

How do you plan to run the online meetings? Voce chat, text chat, video chat? I'm all for voice and/or video chat meetings.

If you all are still doing this, please let me know (I am currently in CSS) and I feel this stuff would be a lot easier if I had others to bounce questions off of.
