wanted to know how come the css will only link the html doctype if i put in the following code

<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="style.css">

but in the video they only have <link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css">

without the type="text/css" and it works in the video? what is the significance of type="text/css"?
