List item w/ "Portfolio"

Everytime I submit this code, it's saying that I need to add a list item w the word Portfolio in it.

index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
  <head>
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    <title>Nick Pettit</title>
  </head>
  <body>
    <header>
      <a href="index.html">
        <h1>Nick Pettit</h1>
        <h2>Designer</h2>
      </a>
      <nav>
        <ul>
        </ul>
          <li><a href="index.html">Portfolio</a></li>
          <li><a href="about.html">About</a></li>
          <li><a href="contact.html">Contact</a></li>
      </nav>
    </header>
    <section></section>
    <footer>
      <p>&copy; 2013 Nick Pettit.</p>
    </footer>
  </body>
</html>

Hey shayne. The challenge wants us to link the list items. Therefore, we must put the "<li>" tags inside the "<a>" tags. Also, you misplaced the unordered "<ul>" list tags. We need those items inside of it. Try this code for the nav:

  <nav>

    <ul>

      <a href="index.html"><li>Portfolio</li></a>

      <a href="about.html"><li>About</li></a>

      <a href="contact.html"><li>Contact</li></a>

     </ul>

  </nav>

Hope this helped. :)

you need to include your list inside [<ul></ul>] element
