General Discussion

Local or external href for images. Which is better?

Local from server files ( href="/pictures/picture_name"): or Externally from url (href="http://www.website_name.com/image_name.jpeg"):

Locally loads images faster (usually), is more reliable (not prone to other site downtime), but at the cost of bandwidth.

Externally saves bandwidth, but is less reliable and can be slower.

Which method would you recommend?

I would recommend locally because it is faster, more reliable and if your website or internet is down, you can still view it on your local server.
