Local servers for mac

What are some good local servers on mac which can store files like pdf,images etc. so that i can program for AJAX and PHP ?

You might give MAMP a try (http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/16197/mamp). It's free, easy to download and to set up. It provides a web server (Apache) and a database server (MySQL) along with phpMyAdmin. I use it for all my web development work.
