4,896 PointsLocked Courses in the Tracks
Hi! I'm currently doing the CSS Foundations course on the Web Design track. I started doing this track when the first course of the track was on how to build a cupcake business website. I completed that course a long time ago. Now it's changed to the "How to Make a Website" course on the track.
I noticed that all of the courses coming after this new course are now locked, unless I complete the "How to Make a Website" course. I can no longer access my CSS Foundations course within my track (I know I can access it as a standalone course from the library). Does this mean I have to complete this new course in order to complete the track?
I already went through the original, novice website design course on how to build a website (cupcake business) and I think it would be a waste of time to have to complete this updated version of the same course all over again. I don't like this new locked feature that was added to the tracks. Thanks!

Courses Plus Student 94,610 PointsI thought they mentioned that they unlocked courses for people already in a track at the time this change happened. Maybe not.
To answer your question, yes, I think the courses remain locked until you complete the earlier ones. You have to access them from the library otherwise.
That being said, I think you would learn some things from the "How to make a website" project. This new project isn't simply a rehash of the old project.
If you feel you know everything in it then you could simply go real quick through all the quizzes and challenges and that shouldn't take you too long.

4,896 PointsOk, I see what I did wrong. I was playing around, switching to different tracks, before I went back to my Web Design track. That's why I noticed my courses were locked. I'll do the entire "How to make a Website" project, then. I think I need a good review, anyway. Thanks Jason!

Courses Plus Student 94,610 PointsYou're welcome. That makes sense. I think the unlocked courses was just a special thing they did for the track you were currently.in but you would lose it as soon as you left.
