With the new tracks layout I can't skip illustrator basics and go on to SEO basics in the web design track because it's locked. I already know Illustrator and don't want to have go through that class in order to progress.

17,730 PointsYou can always just hop off the track and use the library. Or you can just got through and take the Illustrator quizzes real fast since you already know Illustrator. Shouldn't take you more than 10 min or so get through the quizes

That's might be true for the design & business courses.
However, if the pre-req course is a coding course, the code challenges might take an hour or 3 depending on the course.

17,730 PointsAgreed. I thought we were just talking about the Illustrator quizzes which I figured were all multiple choice. And for someone that knows Illustrator real well, I didn't think it would talk to long. Yes, the coding ones can take quite some time.
Also to note, I often find that when I think I can just take the quizzes and skip through a basic section, I ended up finding something I didn't know before.

39,199 PointsAndrew McCormick - Looks like Sarah Bradberry isn't the only one having an issue with the new tracks.

Nick Ocampo
15,661 PointsI have the same problem. All the challenges in every track are locked except the introduction, even if I have previously completed the challenges.

39,199 PointsWith the tracks update, there are 2 different ways to use Treehouse.
- Free form: Go to the library and watch videos from any course that interest you
- Structured: Like a certificate track at a community college there is a prescribed order for courses, you can only register for the next course in the sequence after you have completed all of the pre-requisite courses.

If you had previously completed a course in a Track before the update, or a course was in progress but is now in a locked tier, those courses will now appear as unlocked so that you can complete/review them within the Track itself. However, if there are still courses within the same tier, those will be locked. We want you to stick to the path we've set out. As I said, more tools will be coming for those that just want to use Tracks as a broad overview.
