Log entries don't appear after stopping app

The log entries appear when i first click the Download button. Since the Android Device Monitor was deprecated I'm not sure how to kill the process like Ben did so I just stopped the app in the emulator. The first time I tried this the log appeared and said it was going to restart the Service in x amount of seconds, but then the log completely cleared out by itself and it didn't log that the rest of the songs were downloaded. Then I tried it again but this time the restart notification didn't even appear. What's going on?
