Log the Power Usage on my Mac.

I want to build an OS X swift application, which should log my mac's power consumption every minute.

After some hours of searching I came across this github project: https://github.com/beltex/SMCKit

,but this seems to be pretty complicated and I don't know where to start. Is there maybe a lass complicated approach using a Terminal Cmd or a gem package to fit my needs?
