iOS

"Look Back" App based on "PhotoBombers"

I loved the iOS Dev tutorials and I've finally put together my own app and launched it on the app store. I'd love some feedback on it and suggestions for how to make it better. Also, if anyone has any questions on it, I'm here to you you all out with your own apps.

I think its pretty good. I'll leave a review on your app for you.

Does it bring up all the most recent photos related to the hashtag?

Thanks I really appreciate that!

Yeah it filters by most most recent and you can add whichever hashtags you want to follow.

I have an app or game on the app store. Its called tappy flight. Could you check it out for me? Also, i think your next update should consist of having it show a time of how recent the posts are.

That's pretty cool I just downloaded it. Best score so far is 11 but I'm getting better! I'll leave a good review for you.

Did you tap one of the pictures. They get larger and the time it was posted is on the top right. Is that what you meant?

oh okay, i see it now. How long did it take for you to develop your application?

It took me about 2 weeks working on it after work. What about yours?

It took me about a week. But ive been trying to spend more time on this next update so people will actually want to play longer. basically focusing on the game play content.

wow look back is an awesome apps. how did you managed to make this great apps Bryan Jenkins . how did you make a sidebar menu facebook style? and how you managed to make a popup style for add a new hashtag? thanks.

Hey David Klein, I really appreciate your kind words!

I used a cocoapod called MMDrawerController for the slide out menu and I took the custom transition Sam used an the tutorial and tweeked it a bit. I used NSUserDefaults to store the tags in an array and the popup form is just a new view controller on the stack with a transparent background. Similar to the photo view controller sam walked us through.

If you have anymore questions, I'm happy to help!

thanks for your reply Bryan Jenkins . i think i need to start to be a bit more crazy about xcode cause i'm always lazy when i got stuck. i will try MMDrawerController and try to make a popup windows same like your app. thanks for inspiring me.

Yeah it can be tough when I get stuck too. Everyone on the forum is really helpful though so if you get stuck just ask and we'll help! Let me know what you end up making. I'm excited to see it!

Hey Bryan Jenkins , do u mind share some statistic for user downloading your app? because your app look really cool.

Yeah sure, so far there are about 100 unique users and thanks for the kind words

100 unique user per day or in total? thank for answering.

100 total and about 50 use it daily on average

wow, that's awesome. thanks for sharing your statistic. cheers. :)

Bryan Jenkins how do you use MMDrawerController in your code? i don't understand their guide on github. :)

MMDrawerController is a bit tricky if you've never worked with it. This tutorial should help:

thanks for the link Bryan Jenkins but those tutorial i guess only for programmatic (without storyboard) while i'm currently using storyboard. i've been stuck with this library for 10 hours. I guess i will stop until WWDC started. :)

Yeah I personally didn't use a storyboard, but here is a good tutorial on how to integrate it.
