26,494 PointsLooking for collaborators
I'm looking for collaborators for some projects. Most of my friends aren't really into computers and design, so it makes it hard to find like minded people to work with. Where do you find people to collaborate with? Also if anybody is interested let me know. I really feel like collaborating is the best way to push your talents to the next level.

Courses Plus Student 14,839 PointsThat is great you are reaching out for collaborators. I feel exactly the same way. I have not that many friends that are interested like us in the web. I think that is why I decided to start a Boston area Treehouse meet-up. It starts on Sunday and I am really excited to see who comes. I am sure there are members that would love to sharpen their skills with you.

2,954 PointsHey i'm still really new to this area but I'm motivated and want to learn. I'd be interested in working on some projects. What do you have in mind?
Dan Ridley
Courses Plus Student 14,839 PointsI am still watching videos and sharpening my skills. I do not have any current projects that I am working on but I am sure that other Treehouse members will have some projects that you guys can collaborate on. Maybe some other members have some practice projects that are working on that you can be included. I will send some tweets out with a link to this post and we can see if we can find some collaborators.

Courses Plus Student 14,839 PointsHey George Offley, are you excited for the Meet up this Sunday?
George Offley
Courses Plus Student 7,386 PointsPumped, since no one I know even like computers. It will be nice to hang with others where I can absorb knowledge!
Dan Ridley
Courses Plus Student 14,839 PointsAwesome George. It is great to see your enthusiasm. See you on Sunday

3,757 PointsI'm definitely still learning. But I'm always interesed in working with others. You can reach me on email ktferretti@gmail.com or twitter @ktferretti. I feel just as stuck as you do, haha.

4,568 PointsI'm always down for making new friends in the design and development field. If anyone wants to talk about possible collaboration let me know. I have 4 years of graphic design experience as well as a pretty good understanding of HTML/CSS but I'm just starting to immerse myself in Javascript and PHP.
Dan Ridley
Courses Plus Student 14,839 PointsHey Dustin Lee Do you have a twitter handle or email?
James Olguin
9,527 PointsHey everyone,
I made a Google+ Community group for collaborating with other Treehouse members. Figure would be a good way to stay connected, talk about projects you need help on, hangouts, and chat.

9,672 PointsWhat a great idea! I'm still learning too (aren't we all). But that's exactly why collaboration would be so awesome. Count me in!
How do you plan on doing this? I see Twitter handles, email addresses, G+ groups. What's the best way?
Dustin Lee
4,568 PointsMy twitter handle is @heydustinlee : )

26,494 PointsThis is insane! I posted this on a complete whim and never thought it would go this far, much less be tweeted out by @treehouse. I'm going through and gathering everyones information right now. I think the Google+ page is a good idea. I am also following everyone who has a twitter account. Make sure to follow back so DM's are possible. I'm @devoidofgenius on Twitter. Wow, just wow!
Keith Monaghan
9,494 PointsI'm in! I'd love to collaborate on something. I think the Google+ community page is a great idea!

9,672 PointsWhat's cool about this is that I've been feeling all alone (and occasionally stuck and stranded) in my "learning adventure." Sounds like other folks were too. There's an old saying "that which is most personal is most general." I think that applies here.
Chris Ellinger
26,494 PointsJulie Kuehl I'm right there with you. I mentioned adding a more social aspect to the Treehouse site for this very reason. It would be nice to have the ability to do all of this on the site where it originated, rather than trying to figure out the best option. The forum isn't really meant for something like this. I am very grateful that it was here though to start the conversation.
George Offley
Courses Plus Student 7,386 PointsChris Ellingsworth I think the idea of a google+ is best, it seems the best for a colabs, one possible problem I see with it is upkeep and maintenance of the page. But I'm willing to try until treehouse incorporates a feature like that into their site.
Julie Kuehl
9,672 PointsThis would be great to incorporate into Learning Adventures. Connecting with cohorts would be very helpful!
Kyle Ferretti
3,757 PointsJulie we will need your G+ info or your gmail. Someone will invite you to it. I'm blocked from it while I'm at work or I would.
George Offley
Courses Plus Student 7,386 PointsSo when should we expect invites for the group?
Julie Kuehl
9,672 PointsI found the link that had been posted earlier. I requested an invite.
Chris Ellinger
26,494 PointsWhen I get to a computer I'll see about the invites. If you look it up on Google+ its called Treehouse Team Up.
Keith Monaghan
9,494 PointsHere's the link. Just request an invite. You have to have a Google+ account (which is based on a Gmail address).
George Offley
Courses Plus Student 7,386 PointsJust requested, super excited to socialize and work with other burgeoning developers and designers!
Andy Crofford
9,959 PointsIs it possible to still get on this? I have always wanted to work on a project with other designers/developers.
Thanks, Andy
James Olguin
9,527 PointsYeah, just request an invite.
