When I joined Team tree house, there was a loose promise of help finding work in the industry. I'm not sure if that only applies to the U.S, but I could certainly use some help right about now.
After a year of studying on Treehouse and working as a freelancer, I feel I have a respectable arsenal of skills. I've been working night and day to build a decent portfolio and all my clients have been delighted with my work. I'm very keen to take that next step and start working for an agency in Oslo. I've got realistic expectations, I know i'll probably need to start off in a junior position.
I've been applying to positions left, right and center, but hearing nothing back. Most of the positions seem to be looking for someone with an unspecified degree and/or several years experience. How do people get their big break?
So, to the good people of the Treehouse forum I ask you; does anyone have any tips or advice on getting started in the industry, specifically in Norway? Does anyone here work in a Norwegian agency that would be willing to entertain an application from me? If so, i'd be delighted to hear from you.
Otherwise, let's just chew the fat on getting your big break wherever you are in the world.
