Loved the Block Badge

You can't even pretend to know Ruby until you understand blocks. Having been through codeschools ruby bits and left no better off - that badge really helped!

I just started the Ruby lessons, and they are so great. It's all brand new to me, so I thought I'd take a $99 live 3 hour class today somewhere other than Treehouse to get a good starter from a different point of view as well. Yeah.. waste of time and money. Everything here is explained so much clearer and in ways that stick to my brain. In that class today, I had already learned everything they went over the previous two days when going through the Ruby lessons here.

So far, I'm loving Ruby and how easy Rails makes things.

Totally agree. Behind Jason's grin there's a lot of work put in to present things clearly and simply. To learn things you need to see and then do and play - so you follow along with IRB open and check your understanding with the quizzes. The only thing that's missing that you get with you $99 is the interaction and structuring you get with an instructor.
