Mac App in Swift has greyed menu items. Help?

This isn't exactly to do with iOS, but it's the closest category.

I wrote this into my ViewController.swift file:

@IBAction func myMenuItemAction(sender: AnyObject) { }

Then on my menu item I set an action to go to the First Responder which has that IBAction in it. However when I build the app the menu item is grey out.
