Mac problems with Treehouse videos

I just started using a Mac, and now, when watching Treehouse videos, I am unable to fast forward/rewind or skip around in the video. Does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it? I can't seem to find anything about it online.

Thanks.

what browser are you using

+1 for using Chrome on a Mac. Everything is working fine for me.

Wow, that's strange. I was using Chrome. I switched to Safari and the video didn't run at all. Now I'm using Firefox, and I'm able to skip around the video. Although, the video lags a lot and sometimes just starts over. I'm afraid to try it in IE. Lol.

maybe try updating chrome

Good call, Stone. However, my browser is up to date and I'm still having the issue. Thanks, though.

I have had a different problem with the videos for a couple months now. I can skip video's etc however the timeline at the bottom of videos will not hide/fade after a few seconds like it used to, is this a change in the code recently or is it my browser that seem to have this glitch/needs updating suddenly? Just annoying when trying to read code at the bottom of the video sometimes.

Anyone else have this issue?

I'm running a Mac with OS X 10.9 and Safari and haven't had any trouble. Make sure you're running an up to date OS (or as up to date as your machine will run), and make sure you've run Software Update and downloaded any and all available updates.

If you're using Firefox or Chrome, make sure you've got the latest version.

Hey Ben,

I have had a problem similar to this a few months ago, the (fullscreen) button disappeared underneath the media

bar on Treehouse videos, I found out a week later. I thought it had disappeared entirely ! and following the videos

became too much of a challenge.

A moderator after (playing with browsers) suggested maybe other apps were conflicting with the browser itself.

So I deleted a few of my newer developer apps and extensions and my browser was so much faster and had

fewer bugs.

Really. Awesome. Advice. =)

+1 Good advice.

I should also note that when I watch Treehouse videos on my PC, as opposed to the Mac I'm currently using, there isn't any problem. In both I'm using the same chrome browser settings and extensions. This makes me think it's a Mac compatibility issue?

What Mac and what version of OSX are you running? Is it up to date? Are you running any third party extensions on the machine itself (not just browser add-ons or extensions) that might be conflicting? Anti-virus, firewall, any evidence of malware?

I can't be a Mac compatibility issue as the videos play fine for me on a Mac, all seem to be developed on Macs, and if there was an issue specifically with Macs there would be an awful lot of people here complaining about it, so there must be an issue with something that's specific to your Mac. If you create a new user profile in OSX and view the videos in Safari - do you see the same issues there?
