808 PointsMacBook Pro Retina fan goes crazy on Treehouse
Anyone else have trouble with the fan going crazy on the site? Is it because, for some reason, Treehouse takes up a ton of CPU?
I have no idea, I just don't like it.

33,371 PointsI wanted to post the same issue... It only happens to me with treehouse videos and especially if full screen.
To be honest I also ran a test via apple diagnostics.
Fan goes like crazy, but I have noticed it over the last weeks or so, not sure whether it was the same earlier

14,736 PointsHas this issue been addressed? I ran into this problem when El Capitan was in beta while using Chrome. I've had my treehouse subscription paused for about half a year but I've just resumed it and I'm disappointed to see this issue still persists. If I try to watch a video on Safari the audio quality is terrible as well.
I remember reporting this to the treehouse staff and they said they'd look into it but haven't heard anything since.

4,731 PointsHi all students who have posted. If you can please provide any/all specific details about your environment, it'll help our developers try to single out the issue. From what has been reported, it seems that there may be some similarities between those who are experiencing the issue, as we have not be able to replicate the fan issue at all.
We'd appreciate any/all of the following: browsers and their versions, OS versions, browser plugins, URLs to pages that increase the fan's workload (just videos? or CCs and quizzes too?), unusual/uncommon background applications running, any/all attempts at fixing the issue, (e.g. disabling plugins, OS reinstalls, browser reinstalls, etc.), details about your video playback (e.g. captions, speed, fullscreen, volume), and anything else that you may find pertinent or unique to the issue.
The more information you can share, the better a jumping off point our developers will have. I'll be watching this thread over the next week and accumulating/recording/sharing data. Thank you all for your patience and help with it.

808 PointsI honestly don't believe this is healthy for my computer...
I'm not too fond of the tutorials anymore but since they're only available through video there's not much to do.

It's make the user experience less than ideal.
