making a flash file clickable in a iframe

Hi all, I have been given a flash file that I need to embed into my page. I tried Putting an <a> around it and absolutely positioning it but this did not seem to work on pcs. This is what I used

<a target="_blank" href="mylink.whatever" title="my link" style="display:block; z-index:700; position:absolute; left:0; right:0; top:0; bottom:0;"></a> <iframe src="myflashfile.swf" scrolling="no" height="89" width="700" style="z-index:1;"> </iframe>

Thanks in advance.

The link had to be add in Adobe Flash, not on html.
