14,023 PointsHi James, thanks for answer. May I ask, why you're thinking that making themes and selling is not a profitable thing to do?

James Barnett
39,199 PointsCheck out the stats on theme forest, most themes don't sell than 100 times. It's more of a labor of love than a full time job.

14,023 PointsYou're right James, I just checked and see theres not so many sales, but I think it would be a good idea to start out at creating and selling themes in marketplaces for gaining experience and getting some subscribers. Also , what do you think about these ideas: selling plugins, affiliate website where I could review wordpress themes, membership websites?

James Barnett
39,199 PointsI think it's a great idea to sell themes to gain experience. If you like writing you might consider writing a blog about making a theme. I think of Wordpress as just a specialization for a standard Web Developer. Develop really strong HTML, CSS, JavaScript & Design skills and can work as a freelance web developer. Then start working on your Wordpress specialization getting freelance clients that want that.
