Who would you pick as a host for a fully managed VPS server for multiple domains and email addresses? Our work does not have a sys admin, so we want them to handle all of the updates, set up, security, etc. Great uptime, fast, great support. Who would you recommend, and in a short answer, why? Thank you!

1,396 PointsLinode offers managed hosting for $100 per node on top of what you're paying. That's a very reasonable price, IMO. https://library.linode.com/linode-managed

39,199 Points> Once you add a service to Linode Managed, we'll monitor it for connectivity, response, and total request time.
Looks like linode's offering is a break/fix monintoring service, I don't think they do setup or updates or anything like that.

28,149 PointsThank you guys! Today I learned more about servers than I ever wanted to know. I think you're right James on your last comment. We definitely want a host that is very hands-on in server set up, maintenance, etc. Our current config just bit us in the ass hard. I guess our server might have some malware, our container was closed down because our VPS was being used to DDoS. Awesome huh? Our current host doesn't offer managed VPS, it appears.

1,396 PointsThere are also sysadmin for hire services like http://admins4hire.com, http://www.servertechs.net/support-plans/per-server-plans, or you could sniff around something like oDesk to find a freelancer https://www.odesk.com/o/profiles/browse/skill/linux-system-administration/

39,199 PointsIt's a hard lesson that a lot developers have to learn, having a sysadmin is like having insurance no wants 'em till you 'em.

28,149 PointsWe might be making the jump to liquidweb next month. Any other advice. We just go our server and email server up and going after 3 days. Learned a lot in a very short amount of time.
