Margin Centering

When attempting to centre the wrapper using CSS, why won't it work by using the values margin: 0 auto;?

It might be your wrapper selector. Post all the css that you're using.

try, align: center;

Try setting a max-width for the wrapper, otherwise the wrapper extends at 100% of the screen. See code below:

#wrapper {
  max-width: 1000px;
  margin: 0 auto;
}
