15,479 PointsMaxCDN vs. AWS vs. Akamai, or other?
Hello all:
This is for anyone who has experience using Content Delivery Networks. I'm really thinking about investing in a CDN for images for my various sites, but I'm unsure if I should because I'm not sure how much it will end up costing. My monthly transfer averages somewhere between 12,000 MB and 20,000MB. Is there another statistic that I need to be aware of? And if I do go ahead and go with a CDN, do I just redo all my image paths towards where they are hosted and that's it?
Thanks. I just don't want to get a large surprise bill if I decide to do this.

27,709 PointsWe use AWS and have been reasonably happy with the service so far. The documentation is excellent, and the integration was pretty straightforward. We are serving videos from the site, so the monthly transfer rates are pretty high. BUT the cost is considerably lower per month than what we were using before - a hosted solution bitsontherun.
I moved our image assets over to our S3 bucket, and yes, it's just a matter of re-referencing the files.
I hope that helps with your decision. If you want further details, just let me know!
