max-width and link between css and html

I put in my css max-width correctly but its still telling me I have to check it. Besides of that i linked my html code with my css but its not displaying it at all. Really Thankfull for help.

I think you may have your # wrapper wrong. There should be no space so the code should look something like 

#wrapper {
    max-width: 940px;
  }

I believe if you fix this it may take care of the width error as well as it not showing on the page.

It looks like you have a typo.

The "a" rule seems to be missing the closing brace. Also there seems to be a stray space between the "#" character and the ID name.
