Media Query,Responsive, jQuery plugin

If CSS media query can build a responsive webpage, why use the jQuery plugin for responsive?

its also very useful to know when media changes in javascript depending on your project. For example, maybe you need to tweak how a menu click event works if its an iphone vs. laptop. In jquery/js you can handle changing events, or not using certain functions, etc, depending on media.
