Modifying a Wordpress Plugin?

I have 2 questions about customizing the (CSS?) for a Wordpress plugin, "Reading Time", for my nonprofit organization's site (http://outdoor womensalliance.com).

  1. We want this to show up on the top of our articles (posts) but not pages (no menu items or home page, or anything like that, just posts). Taking a look at menu items, you'll see something that reads "X minutes" (X being a number) showing near the top which isn't optimal for our site. So, for example, the "Grassroots Teams" pages (http://outdoorwomensalliance.com/grassroots-teams/), where users just looking to see if there is a team in their area and not reading an article, we wouldn't need the "2 minutes" at the top. Or the menu item "Media" that takes users to a list of all of our articles (and is not an article itself), we also wouldn't need it there. I have tried asking the developer and was told it's coming out in the update, but I have no idea when that update is going live or if it will be the fix we're looking for. Any idea on this?

  2. We want to customize the "X minutes" portion to read: "Read in X minutes" so users understand the context of the time. Right now, it's somewhat confusing.

Thank you for your help!

Have you checked out the plugins settings page? It looks like there are some options to customize where it goes, including via shortcodes.

Yes, however, the options listed aren't options (yet)... the developer said he would be adding both of them in the next edition, but they are not available yet, and I would like to get them implemented now as the current settings make our site look "buggy." :) Casey Ydenberg

What is your actual question, in that case?

Hey Casey Ydenberg, the questions are in the numbered part of my original post but they might have been confusing. Basically:

  1. We need the "Reading Time" Wordpress plugin to work on posts, not pages (so remove it from pages in Wordpress, but retain it on posts); and

  2. Customize it to say, "Read in X minutes" rather than what it says now: "X minutes" (where "X" is the amount of minutes it shows for each post).

So I would think we need to customize the plugin's CSS or something in its code. However, I'm not sure what...
