Hi michaelrambeau.

I loved your question and I just thought that I had to answer it! Money is incredibly important and that why as well as developing your coding and career skills, it is just as critical to develop your financial acumen as well. A lot of people presume that if you have more money, it will answer all your problems but more often than not, if we do not have skills in handling money, we will still have the same problems! Things like debt reduction, how investing works, how to save for retirement are all things that need to be addressed and can be learnt!

Over the years, making incredibly stupid mistakes regarding money, I have read some great books that have really helped me to get ahead with money. I will put a list of just some of them below:

1) The Richest Man in Babylon - George C. Clason

2) The Total Money Makeover - Dave Ramsey

3) Your Money or Your Life - Joe Domingez

4) Rich Dad Poor Dad - Robert Kiyosaki

5) The Millionaire Next Door - Thomas Stanley

Also another great resource is the website, 'The Simple Dollar' - it features a blog, book reviews and newsletters that I have found very useful over the years

I hope that this helps!
