More quizzes, exams, projects??

Are there any places on Treehouse where we can take extra quizzes or exams? As well as work on some projects (i.e make something from scratch that would involve all of the skills used in a track)

Granted I haven't completed a track yet, I am just wondering if there are any additional resources out here that can accurately track my learning.

An example off the top of my head are the "exams" that freelance.com offers that you can complete (for money -_-) to show that you really do have a strong knowledge of a particular language or skill.

I would love to have the same thing here. A badge that can be acquired that is a little more complex to complete but shows yourself (and others) that you are truly well versed in that particular area. In addition to the questions being "harder", more importantly I would want them to be relevant in the world today. So, for instance, I would want it to be as if you were giving the exam to a potential Junior Developer/Designer/etc etc. And if they did really well on it, you would be confident that they actually do posses the relevant skills to be a welcomed asset on your team.

Also, in regards to projects. Something similar to the "exams", in that, upon completion, you would be confident that this person can indeed produce what he/she has learned and should be confident knowing that what they just completed is very admirable and would be relevant in the work force.

As I'm sure you can tell by now I would personally be using these resources as a way of quantifying how good my skills are in regards to getting an entry level job in today's competitive tech field.

One last thing, I came across some old forum posts about "Independent Studies Program" that got canceled about a year ago...just wondering, might this ever see a comeback? That sounded like it may cover the things I'm mentioning here and I would be willing to pay a premium for something like that.

Sorry for the super long post!!!

Enjoying these courses immensely, -Zach

That's not a current feature of Treehouse, although it's been mentioned more than a few times around the forum.

A badge that can be acquired that is a little more complex to complete but shows yourself (and others) that you are truly well versed in that particular area.

How would you grade it. If it's truly relevant to the real world then it's probably larger in scope than can be graded by a computer. There is generally more than one way to do it and sometimes one way is much better and sometimes not.

I would be willing to pay a premium for something like that.

There are online mentorship sites that offer projects like you suggest and they are evaluated individually, of course they cost 10 times what Treehouse cost per month.

In reference to the badge, it would just be a multiple choice/short answer 100 question quiz or something similar.

Oh, yea I wouldn't be willing to pay that much and would rather stay within this site, but I am probably getting ahead of myself anyways.

For the next 60+ hours i'll be working through the Web Developer track, I'm just already looking towards the future and what to do with the skills I learn. (Besides start trying to build my own websites)

Thanks for the response James, much appreciated.

+1 for extra quizzes
