Morse Code Challenge

Hello. I am not sure why my code is not generating the correct output.

morse.py
class Letter:
    def __init__(self, pattern=None):
        self.pattern = pattern
    def __str(self):
        new_pattern = []
        for element in self.pattern:
            if element == '.':
                new_pattern.append('dot')
            if element == '_':
                new_pattern.append('dash')
        return '-'.join(new_pattern)

class S(Letter):
    def __init__(self):
        pattern = ['.', '.', '.']
        super().__init__(pattern)
