Business Building Your Techdegree Resume Building Your Resume What is a Resume?

Move to Basic plan, Build Your Resume.

This course should be accessible for all TreeHouse, as building resume is one of the basics but yet important things to start looking for a job. That is the main reason ppl get here to find the skills to land the 1st job.

Not all users have $199(8 months of the basic plan) to spend in a Techdegree at TreeHouse. It will help if at least this RESUME BUILDING COURSE is available for all users in the basic plan

I will be sending this as an email to TTH support.

Not having such a fundamental video makes treehouse look cheap.

lynda.com has several good resume and professional development videos available with their subscription.

I agree. I was disappointed to see this is not included with the basic plan.

Hi Fidel Torres

First, everyone's opinion here matters. I appreciate all of you being Treehouse students and we aim to provide great content that's accessible to folks on our basic plans as well as in our Techdegrees. In this case, the Resume Basics course is Techdegree-specific — the course discusses the Techdegree as well as Techdegree projects. It's not intended for those students who aren't progressing through the Techdegree program and building a portfolio based on the Techdegree projects.

We have other courses that are intended (and available) to everyone who want to improve their chances at landing a tech job. These include:

That's over 7 hours of career content. The 29-minute Building Your Resume course really is for those having the Techdegree experience and is used to supplement the 7+ hours of career content available to all of our students. I will update the description of the resume course to reflect that difference.

Thanks for the comments — they really do help us improve Treehouse for everyone — and thanks to all of you for being Treehouse students.

Hi Dave McFarland ,

Firstly thanks for replying and second sorry to the community for no following up the thread.

I did indeed left Team Tree House after the deception, from not receiving any responses from support or TTH Posted on May 22 by Fidel Torres response Dave McFarland on Aug 16(Thanks again)

The one reason I trusted TTH was cause the content created here has quality and new courses are released with fairly short time. If there are already 7 hours of content on Career Development why is an impediment create an extra video on resume creation focused on TTH students.

Thanks, Fidel Torres.

Maybe we can all write to the support email, and ask for it to be moved to Basic Plan.

Shame this is not on the basic plan

I agree too.

I also strongly vote in support of the course being moved to the basic plan and accessible to everyone. Please listen to us Teamtreehouse.

Fidel Torres So you have all these courses (coding and business) ..... and you are going to make a mess around a small resume course ?? does that makes sense to you ?? you can youtube how to make a resume and get thousands of videos .... you need to chill bro

If it's so easy to find quality videos on YouTube why are we all here at TTH!!!

To learn how to design and code ... not to learn how to build a resume ... there are hard skills that you need to land a job (design and coding) .. and soft skills that might help (building a resume) ... i think you should be focusing more on the big stuff not the trivial stuff ...... why are you so uptight!! ...

Hi Muhamed Hassan ,

First best of lucks in your career, then to the point.

If you think I haven't built my skills up check my profile

Sometimes the people with good technical skill, require a little help building a resume|CV to be able to get a good Job. All I'm asking from TTH is a little help.

ATM I'm doing this more for the community(uptight! LOL) as I have a Fulltime Job now as a Front End Developer.

websites like freecodecamp.com, not only teach but also help their community to get their first job experience by working on non-profit projects, code interview preparation and job interviews. I clarify quality at TTH is great but why not offer the other services as well.

Thanks, T04435.

The fact that the video starts with these words:

Welcome to the resume BASICS course

Makes me think should it be part of TECH DEGREE or BASIC Plan?
