Must Parse Response First

I found that the response must be parsed before passing it to the each method. var data = JSON.parse(response)

Then it works.

Yes, this is true if you're using the $.get method to load the data - but if you use $.getJSON instead (which is mentioned in this particular video), then parsing as JSON is done automatically within the method.
