CSS Sass Basics (retired) Getting Started with Sass Advanced Nesting

My answer is correct. It works on my computer. I don't know why it's being marked as wrong.

The footer link is purple on my computer. When I compile this sass the css I get is:

p a { color: red; } .footer p a { color: purple; } p > a { color: blue; } p > a:hover { opacity: 0.5; }

Figured it out. The problem was with my poor indentation.

Hiya Graham,

I just changed this to an answer to avoid confusion int he future.

I'm glad you found and sorted your own problem out!

In the future though try and indent when ever you use an opening and de-indent(?) when you close something :-)

Keep up the good work!

This was the passing answer.

/* Write your SCSS code below. */
p {
  a {
    color:red;
     .footer & {
          color: purple;
     }
  }
  > a {
    color: blue;
    &:hover {
      opacity: 0.5;
    }
  }
}

I'm having the same problem. I have the exact answer:

p { a { color: red; .footer & { color: purple; } }

a { color: blue; &:hover { opacity: 0.5; } } }

But it still says "Bummer".

Turns out [.footer] needed to be [div.footer].

.footer is perfectly valid, but the system it seems is pedantic to a fault.

Not happy.
